DADDY! THERE IS A MONSTER IN MY WALL!

This event happen in a town somewhere in or near Wisconsin. My mother and aunts can't remember the name of it. Whatever town it was it had money. It paid very well for labor and field work. The odd jobs they worked paid nearly $100 a day back in 66-67. The community at that time was being plague with disappearances. The disappearances were occurring all around town, from downtown (ghetto) to the wealthy areas. Most of the missing were teenagers. People from both sides of the town were blaming each other for missing love ones. They were unaware that a sinister force was the cause of their woes. My mother and the family rented a house in the area. She remembers working in a winery and being underage. The other members work different jobs around the town as well. The family worked three different time shifts. A member from the first shift was resting in a hammock under a couple trees , when something caught his attention. In fact, it was a pair of eyes They were staring from the dark crawl spaces beneath the house but, suddenly disappeared. He thought he was dreaming and did not mention it to anybody.
My youngest aunt saw a strange man standing by a hill near where she was playing. When her and her friends came near the area, he vanished. It was an open area. There was nowhere to hide.
Now when my mother returned from work, she went straight to bed. Couple hours into the night, she woke up suddenly to her bed being moved. And yet the moment she got up it stopped. She moved her bed back against the wall with wonder. She told her father about it and he told her she was dreaming. Meanwhile, more people were vanishing. Some were disappearing right out of locked bedrooms. The mystery was discovered when a young woman was being attacked on a street. The story was that a young woman was walking home when she was jumped by someone . She screamed for her life and the local thugs in the area heard her cries. Three males came and jumped on the suspect. The first rescuer hit him with a 2x4, which broke over the attacker's back. This action made the suspect turned around to exposed his true self. The rescuers bit more than they could chew. The suspect barely resemble a human. The attacker slashed with its claw-like hands and disemboweled one of the rescuers in the progress. All this commotion brought more people to the scene. The inhuman attacker fled before he was captured.
The next day, my mother told her father about the attack and told him to check the wall. He agreed and moved the bed and pushed on the wall. It moved and revealed a hole that lead into the ground. The landlord and police were notified and they came saw the hole. The police checked other houses of people who vanished and found the same holes in their rooms. The police and the town posse went down these holes and discovered a tunnel network to dozens of homes. They found the remains of the missing people in them. Their flesh stripped from their bones. The tunnels lead out of town into the near by mountains and into a large cave. This cave almost look like inside of a normal home. There were old remains of the possible residents in this underground home. It appeared that generations of people lived there. Yet there was no signs of the inhabitants. More unexplored tunnels were discovered. It was decided to cause several key cave ins to seal him and any others in these tunnel system which will prevent them from returning to the town. The tunnels in the homes were filled in by concrete and the hidden doors removed.
My youngest aunt remembers overhearing the cops saying that the mystery of the missing people was solved, they found their heads. There was a hidden entrance by the hill were she saw him. The cops were exploring the tunnel system when they discovered it. She also heard they found an abandoned motel near the edge of town that also had an another entrance to the underground network. Rumors were going around that it was someone's pet experiment that got loose. My mother and aunts was upset that whole incident never appeared in the newspapers. The whole town covered up the incident.
